Description

Pauzeplay is a company that develops games that are both entertainingg and educational. Currently, Pauzeplay is in the process of releasing an existing television quiz game in the form of a multi-player game for both mobile and tablet.

History

After winning Start Up Weekend Utrecht in November 2011, with a game concept that helps you overcome your fear of public speaking, Bart and Michiel founded Pauzeplay. Bart quitted his job as an IT-projectmanager and Michiel tagged along part-time. During development of their first prototype they were approached by the editor in chief of Lingo TV International (Ton Verleg). It was his long treasured dream to develop a proper version of the game Lingo (to which almost a decade of his life has been dedicated). Yes, there are already a lot of Lingo-wannabe’s in the store, but none have succeeded to live up to it’s full potential. A multi-player version of Lingo was as stating the obvious: Bart and Michiel decided that the world has to live in fear for public speaking just a little bit longer, as they also value proper spelling :)

It was not easy to get Lingo licensed but it’s dogged as does it and so Ton finally joined Pauzeplay. Because of the long wait, Pauzeplay was ready to take off and went full speed to a soft launch of the game early 2014. This soft launch was used to test, tweak and balance the game for the best experience of Lingo on a mobile device.
